Who Can Enroll
First, make sure you're eligible.

To join a WellCare PDP, you must be eligible for Medicare Part A and/or enrolled in Part B. You must also live in a WellCare Service area.

There are certain cases in which you would not need to enroll in a PDP:

Example 1:  If you are a member of a Medicare Advantage HMO, you will be disenrolled from your HMO if you try to enroll in a PDP—even if your plan does not have prescription drug coverage.

Example 2:  If you have medical coverage through the VA or TriCare, your plan probably already offers drug savings, so you may not benefit from a PDP.

Example 3:  If you are enrolled in an employer plan with comparable benefits or a Medicare supplement plan with drug coverage, your coverage under those plans could change if you join a PDP. Please contact your benefits administrator or plan representative for coverage details.

What if you belong to another plan?
If you are a member of a fee-for-service (PFFS), Medicare Advantage Medical Savings Account (MSA), or 1876 cost plan that does not provide Medicare prescription drug coverage, you can enroll in a PDP without being taken off your plan.
